Amber Alert

Amber Alert

This year marks the 14th year that the Amber Alert program has been put into effect. The Amber Alert gets its name from the inspiration for the Amber Alert program Amber Hagerman. Amber Hagerman was a young girl that was only ten years old when she had been riding her bicycle in Arlington, Texas on the day she was kidnapped. The ten year old Amber Hagerman was kidnapped, then brutally married. There was a huge community outreach that resulted as a result of her kidnapping. Family and friends swarmed the neighborhood in search for Amber Hagerman. From there, the local disc jockeys even got involved in broadcasting around the region the disappearance of Amber Hagerman. The movement that they undertook inspired the Amber Alert program that we have come to know and appreciate today. The spread of Amber’s disappearance through the different broadcast mediums inspired for these efforts to be executed on a state level, and eventually, a national level.

1. The Amber Alert has been working ever since to see to it that there are Amber Alerts issued in order to recover missing children. Amber Alerts are the names that are given to the broadcasts that are made in order to release details about a missing child. The Amber Alerts are generally revealed locally, but may also be revealed on a national level. Amber Alerts are commonly issued through the medium of television on the local news programs or as a public announcement to the region. Also, probably the most associated way in which Amber Alerts are shared are through announcements that can be found on the highways and byways in the areas where the missing child is believed to be within close range to.

2. We have a reached a point in technology that has allowed Amber Alert the means to strengthen their approach to issuing Amber Alerts. An Amber Alert may be send in multiple different ways. One of the common ways that an Amber Alert may now be sent is through a cell phone. Fortunately, more and more people are realizing the importance of signing up to receive their local and national Amber Alerts. This is a way in which the details of an Amber Alert can be updated almost instantly to those within the area where those updates have occurred. In addition, when Amber Alerts are sent electronically through a cell phone, there appears as though there would be a higher chance that those in the surrounding area are going to be able to obtain this pertinent information. Furthermore, they will also be more inclined to do what they can within the means of the law to assist in the situation, and respond with any information that they can offer to the Amber Alerts.
